BJ's Playlist

August 01, 2008

First of all, I couldn't find a normal photo of BJ anywhere. He's either with random girls or making a non-standard facial expression. I will try to continue posting these umm..interesting pictures without putting any of the random chics on blast.

Anyway, if you don't know this guy his name is BJ and when he isn't working his full time job he is the DOPE rep in Los Angeles. BJ has many talents but the one we will focus on for now is his ability to put a decent playlist together. No ladies, BJ is not a celebrity DJ even though he probably wouldn't mind if you thought that. Nevertheless, he usually finds something that I haven't heard yet. BJ's playlist will be available on the blog sporadically. Just click the picture.

Patsy's

July 30, 2008

Chris put in some research to find the dopest pizza in the city. After traveling around Brooklyn all day, although completely exhausted, we made the trip to the upper east side to experience NY's finest.

Straight Outta Napoli.

Only Peroni made sense. Look at Chris's hands, haha. He's hyped!

.

Super Official. Eat at Patsy's next time you're in NY.

Extra Butter

July 29, 2008

Chris and I took a hike to Long Island for the day to visit Jay at his store Extra Butter. The store carries everything from Puma Clydes and the latest Nike and Jordan releases to apparel from New York streetwear companies like Garbege, Mighty Healthy and Kiser. With its slick, all-black interior and strings of circular bulb lighting, Extra Butter is a sleek canvas for the hypercolor hues and style hybrids that populate the displays.

Bright white stripes of shelving cut through the black walls and, when dotted with lines of evenly placed kicks, subtly allude to the layout of 35mm film strips. Nods to the movie industry abound in the boutique, from the old school director’s chairs acting as sneaker pedestals in the storefront windows, to the glass encased candy counter at the register. A projector-ready movie screen has also been installed for special screenings that will coincide with seasonal activities, holidays and special releases.

The Butter.

Checking out samples and the new line.

Extra Butter carries Only NY and VLNY, which are two of our favorite upcoming lines.

Asher Roth

July 23, 2008

Okay, so I heard about this dude a while ago and I didn't pay attention. I didn't even listen. Well Mike hit me up today and got my attention. He told me to listen to this kid and call him back. Wowwww. Take all my college friends, combine their silly personalities and add a true lyricist. Introducing Asher Roth. He's sick and he was discovered rapping on myspace in his dorm room. Dude is not only a true lyrisict but he is entertaining to listen to. This kid isn't the next Eminem. He might be the caucasian Lil Wayne. Speaking of Lil Wayne, he damn near murders him on A Milli. Don't believe me, just listen. Or just know that I don't play games and download the mixtape.

Roth Boys.

Akon meets Asher Roth. Watch his reaction.

Capsule NYC

July 22, 2008

I arrived yesterday and immediately hit up the tradeshows. I went to Project and then to Capsule. This was my first time at the New York shows but Project hadn't changed much from Vegas. Capsule, on the other hand, was refreshing. The vibe at Capusle was great. The environment wasn't too formal or too relaxed. To be honest, they had me sold at the door with the free Fiji water and Gabe Urist pill necklace.

Concerning the actual show: Public School, Wood Wood, and Maharishi were on the top of my list. Public School is sooo dope. Mosley Tribes new frames were looking good too.

Top Shelf

July 19, 2008

I don't know the release date for these but the grey suede skytops (top right) are extra necessary. The skytops are a bold, attention grabbing sneaker so I think Supra made them right move with the suede as it balances them out. Pair these with chino's and you are super Doug E. Keep your eye out on Factory 413's blog for the drop.
