Kitsuné Tee is the latest extension of their successful brand and we are very proud to be one of the first stores in the US to house the label. Fun fact: Monsieur. Paolo Gucci Watches
@DOPEFAIRFAX + Online. Paolo Gucci was at one time the chief designer of Gucci, but he was finally dismissed from the family firm in 1982 in a dispute over management practices. His father, Aldo, tried to squash his efforts; a vengeful Paolo ratted out Aldo for tax evasion, and Dad went to prison. Continuing battles between family members contributed to the company’s sale, in 1993. In 1995, Paolo’s cousin Maurizio was shot to death. In 1998, Paolo’s ex-wife was convicted of ordering that murder. Over the years, Paolo lost several legal battles with the Gucci company, but he won one, allowing him to use his name in certain connections. He died in 1995 at the age of 64, but his name endures, printed on the faces of these deadstock watches.
